The office of the Principal Officer of the GEPF takes care of valuations and investment matters, along with governance, compliance and legal matters. Based at Brooklyn in Pretoria, the office reports directly to the GEPF Board of Trustees and consists of a four-person management team led by the Principal Officer.
Principal Officer of the GEPF
Adri van Niekerk (Acting)
The Principal Officer is responsible for implementing all Board decisions and ensuring that the Board’s strategy is carried out. She has overall responsibility for financial reporting and disclosure, managing relationships with GEPF’s stakeholders, amendments to the Fund rules and the valuation of funds and assets. Ensuring that the Fund is financially sound, responsibly managed and legally compliant is the responsibility of the Principal Officer along with her team.

Mr John Oliphant
He monitors and manages the GEPF’s assets and liabilities by conducting actuarial valuations, carrying out investment strategy and applying responsible investment principles.
Head of Legal and Compliance
Ms Joelene Moodley
She ensures that the Fund acts in the best interests of members and pensioners at all times by practicing good corporate governance and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

She is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of the Board of Trustees and the Board committees.
