Who are Beneficiaries?

Beneficiaries are the people nominated by a member or pensioner to receive a gratuity payment (once-off lump sum) in the event of his/her death.

A beneficiary can be:

·         A relative;

·         Minor children;

·         A person who is not related to the member or pensioner; and/or

·         A registered entity, such as a charity.

Please note that pensioners must choose their beneficiaries by completing the Beneficiary Nomination form (WP1002) and submitting it to the GEPF.

If you have not yet nominated a beneficiary, or if your beneficiary details have changed, please complete and submit a form as soon as possible.

Important: Do you know that you have the freedom to change your beneficiaries on the Nomination form? The form is available on this website or through our toll-free Call Centre on 0800 117 669.
